Irresistible

Last night I went to see Charlie & The Chocolate Factory The Musical at Drury Lane Theatre London. The reviews I had seen before going weren't too inspiring so I kind of went with a very open mind and no expectations. I can't believe it now - why would people review it badly?!?! It's seriously magically theatrically incredible!!! Everything from the chocolate fountain to the glass lift is in the production and these iconic parts of the film are done so well on stage that it makes the story come alive right in front of your eyes. I'd love to go back and see it again! Those children are very talented, and WOW Willy Wonka is a perfect casting.

I also went to dance last night right before the theatre - little rushed, and I arrived at the theatre all sweaty and red, but hey ho I'm so glad I went! My teacher is so supportive and it makes me want to constantly better myself as a dancer. Realistically, to better myself I need to be going to a ballet class at least once a week to help my turn out and basic techniques, then to my jazz at least twice a week and then a yoga class for flexibility once a week as well as the gym twice or three times a week to do weight training. That would be ideal. BUT, work somehow loves to get in the way! URGH. Growing up, working, living in the 'real' world really does suck sometimes. It makes me really want to go back and study for a little longer!!! (hmmm...)

I'm going to a Pilates class tonight at Sweaty Betty after work which should be good. I'll miss not going to dance today - but I'll go again Thursday if I can!! Just had my bowl of goodness and now onto my morning coffee, lovely!

Days off are the best

Yesterday was an amazing day. Not only was it my first day off in 8 days, I also went back to dance classes after over a year off from it. It was pretty scary, but as soon as I got there and realised not a lot has changed but my technique (which I am willing to work on) I relaxed into it and I literally was in love with every second there. What truly made my night, was the teacher from Pineapple had not forgotten me - "Long time no see Jessica, good to have you back" - I was so shocked, and hugely flattered!

we did a routine to Lissie When I'm Alone

I had a fun day off re-arranging my room, drawers and wardrobe - throwing out lots of old clothes to hopefully at some point, replace with some new! Then I went to my beloved WholeFoods and bought my monthly must-haves which include:

Udos Choice Ultimate Oil Blend
Never have I ever had such spot-free, smooth skin and a clear complexion before, these capsules really have worked for me, I swear by them.

JASON tea tree body wash
What a lovely body wash - really nourishing plus it has no parabens!! It's filled with wholesome ingredients only - love that!

Chia Seeds
This is a new monthly must have for me, I have yet to try them but I want to get in on the chia-craze! So I think I'll try making a smoothie with them in :) how exciting!

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
This is such a gorgeous body moisturiser, really helps on dry skin too - which I generally get on my arms for some reason!

Udos Choice Beyond Greens
This stuff has 33 superfoods, proteins from seeds and greens and tons of fibre...whats not to like?! Ok well, I have never tried it...I bought it new yesterday and today will be my first use. Soooo I will report back on this one. It may taste gross, but I'm willing to try it because it's full of the good stuff! Plus, after my success with Udos Choice, I really do believe in this brand!

Today is another day off, so I think I'll dance again, enjoy lots of lazying about then later on I'm off to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the theatre!!!

dance school

Next week, I begin a summer course at Laban Trinity Dance which I am ridiculously excited for. I have literally been sorting my dance attire out today and practising a few things as I feel I am so unfit and really not that flexible at the moment so I'm a tad scared I'll be terrible and stand out like a sore thumb! But fingers crossed this won't be the case.

I'm going to take lots of photos over the next two weeks and hopefully then review my course and have more decisions made about whether I am strong enough to audition for dance schools etc. It's a tough one, but I think this course will help me see where I stand in the ranking!

Anyway, purely for my entertainment and hopefully some of you will enjoy it too, I have put together some beautiful photographs of incredible dancers to get me in the dancing-spirit (not that that is too hard!). Enjoy!

Are you a Believer?

Good morning you beautiful lot. I hope the sun is shining where you are, it is with me and my god it puts me in such a good mood. I'm starting to believe I have seasonal affective disorder! I think thats a good enough excuse to move to a hotter more exotic country than dull-weathered UK don't you?

silly me

Anyway, something a little more interesting! I went to see Ghost the Musical yesterday evening at the Piccadilly Theatre in London. I was a little sceptical about it as I have seen most of the bigger more popular musicals therefore I tend to have a high standard set when I go to see anything. But to my surprise, it was more than a success! I think the way they have developed the film into a musical is wonderful and so clever. When it's in a film, obviously it's a lot easier to show 'ghosts' and to portray Sam (the main character) unable to move things, but to do this on stage is almost impossible. Clearly not though as they definitely did it. They used illusions and 'magic' tricks in order for us to believe that his hand had just moved through the door for example. I was taken in by it, completely! It was magical.

As I have been at acting school I definitely picked up on some of the bad acting, or badly used techniques. The woman who played Whoopi Goldberg's character needed much more vocal training to fill out the expectations of how big her character is. But on the other hand her character development was beautiful and so funny to watch. I thought Mark Evans who played Sam was brilliant, his voice was divine, plus he is gorgeous!!! Siobhan Dillion who played Molly had an absolutely beautiful singing voice, it really got me when she sang 'With You'.

This song really got me. Probably for many reasons right now, but also for the reason that she did it so beautifully.

I cried an awful lot during the musical. I mean I had had two cocktails before the show and was having 'one of those days', but still! I realised a lot of people left the theatre with panda eyes, a lot of women running to the ladies room to check their make-up before going out onto the street!

Go and see it if you get the chance, it's closing in October I think.

Naked and Famous

Happy St.George's Day all...It's a Monday, the sun is shining and I'm holding on to the hope that this week will be sunny, smiley and lots of fun!

I spent my evening drooling over all the items I wish to order from Nasty Gal. Yet I don't think spending £400 on clothes right now is quite plausible. Although part of me would argue otherwise...fashion does demand my purse and the giving up of more important things...like bills and food! But I don't really have the money to spend right now. So all is on my wish list instead! Although I may order some new sunnies... The House Of Harlow Chelsea Shades in Leopard as they are just to die for!

How incredible? Nasty Gal is my new favourite online shop...Check it out here

Anyway, as usual I've woken up to a large mug of coffee and a few episodes of 90210 first season. Living the life. I have dance this evening, back in London town. I'm ready to work my tired ass off, it's been far too long and I can feel the affects already! It's April, nearing May and I want to start booking holidays and festivals, sorting summer out and getting a bod worth flaunting on the beach. Wish me luck.

First position

To all the dancers out there...

How incredible does this look? I am terribly excited about this documentary film, as I'm convinced most of you dancing beauties will be too!

It has inspired me to watch a dance film tonight, considering I have been ill in bed all day when I was supposed to be going back to Pineapple Dance Studios London, this may satisfy me (well, a little anyway!). I've decided on watching Center Stage.

What's your favourite dance film?

Talkative tea

So considering the day is over and I didn't receive any bad news, nor did I get hit by a flying car or eaten by a pelican...In fact I actually had a lucky day! I won £10 (ok not masses...but still!) on a scratch card! I never buy them, so it was fate. 13 you lucky number you!

I visited Portobello Market today. It was sunny and I was wearing a winter coat. Disaster! But anyway, it was lovely. I had my sunnies on, bought about 8 magazines (including my Kate Moss 1998 Vogue) and even visited Hummingbird Bakery. Treat or what!

I had Carrot cake. A little too sweet but still, it was yummy.

I had a wonderful day, I truly did. It just makes me so happy to be back in London. The buzz here, the creative flow in the air and the constant people-seeing is just amazing for me. I adore being a busy-bee!

Tomorrow or I should say today, I have an even busier day. Back at Pineapple Dance studios, shopping for costume (for a play I'm in), seeing my Momma in London town for drinks and then out with my amazing group of friends in the evening...

Life is good, life is very good.

Plus my tea just told me to 'Sing with your heart' and I feel it's a life lesson learnt...taught by my talkative tea. Oh simple joys.

I hope everyone had a lucky friday the 13th, no one deserves bad days!

Easy, yeah right!

This is where I need to go right now...I read that almost 80% of illnesses and bad health you have is down to stress

So, as you may not know much about me...I thought I'd fill you in. I love anything inspirational, dream-like, beautiful and old-fashioned. I like to be around people, have a busy schedule and dance as much as possible (even if it may just be in my room!). Films, music and theatre are what keep me very much sane...as I said, I get bored easily so enjoy a busy schedule. Don't get me wrong, I love my winding down time. I enjoy a bubble bath, an early night and a good long sleep, but still, it's usually only truly enjoyed if my life has been hectic! Which at this very moment, it definitely is not. So I'm bored, a little frustrated and I end up being very lazy (which I hate!). Laziness- what an ugly word! And let me tell you something, laziness definitely is making me appear ugly. I have (for some reason or another) just got a skin infection...on my face. Lucky me! Plus my laziness is reflecting my body. I feel a little easter weight gain has creeped up on me. This makes me sad. But I know, I go back to London soon & my routine kicks back in in less than two weeks and I will soon find my way back to optimal health. (YAY)
However, it has got me thinking that in the future, to be who I want to be and have the lifestyle I desire to have, I have to be a busy lady with a job that keeps me happy and motivated, or else I WILL become an ugly lazy so and so. Which is NOT what I want in life.

Anyway, the point of this post is to inspire you (and myself) with some motivational quotes, pictures and possibly even a video...I'll see what I find.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Miley Cyrus is so inspiring at the moment. She's running, walking, doing pilates all the time! And it's showing in her amazingly slim and toned body. She is a definite inspiration to me at the moment to be very healthy. She promotes a good healthy body image I think.

As I am a dancer, I am always inspired by dance photography. Dancers are so motivated & like to push themselves to get results. I have recently been practising this ^ and although I haven't quite got to her standard, I think I could get there if I keep pushing myself.

yes, this is my attempt!

Miranda Kerr, purely because her body (although I'm sure a lot of it is down to genes) she must work very hard to maintain a lean, curvy, beautiful body like this one!

Demi Lovato is an inspiration to me at the moment because she has recently come out to the world about her eating and self harming issues. She has been receiving help for it but at the same time, inspiring many others to get help and speak up about their own issues. So inspirational to me. Also she is motivating because she must work so hard every day to fight the demons, trust me that's work in itself.

Victoria Secret models...well their bodies just reflect hard work and motivation. Some may say unrealistic, I disagree. But I will say they have tons of help, nutritionists, trainers and advice soooo it isn't something to aspire to be as such, more just to admire!

Sorry if this doesn't inspire you...if it doesn't though...think about what motivates you in life?

Something you keep in a box on the street

Day 8 : What I want to do when I grow up

So it seems a little silly as I am 21 (technically 'grown up') however, my head still functions as if I'm a child so I still answer this question as if I am 12.
When I 'grow up' I want to act in films and television dramas and on the stage as I love to dance and sing in musicals also!
Preferably in performances of Spring Awakening, We Will Rock You, Matilda, Hairspray and Little Shop of Horrors.
Then in films similar to characters that Dakota Fanning or Kate Winslet plays.

Day 9 : Favourite Book

Well, people may hate me for it, but I was a lover of Twilight!
But I have many other favourite books such as Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, and The Lovely Bones.
I love to read!

Day 10 : Where am I from

Cheshire, United Kingdom

Day 11 : How old am I

21
