It's Simple Darling

So, it's been a while since I've blogged. But I'm back. So less of the worrying ;)
I am proud to say I am now a qualified Personal Trainer, Zumba Instructor and Fitness Professional. And I had my first ever job interview the other day, in fact I had two, and I can not believe I am saying this, but I got both jobs!! So the choice is mine. W-O-W. Not only are they wonderful job offers for my first job, and a fantastic place to start my career, the location is a dream as the job is in Covent Garden!

Celebrate your successes with parties, wine and lots and lots of laughter

As I have not blogged in a long time, I decided to take a look at my older posts, and strangely enough one of my first posts called 'No.4' told about what I would love to do before I die. Slightly morbid I know. But then again, to look at it now, it's quite nice to know I am able to put a tick by some of those things! I had written:

To have been to drama school, kept a blog going, fall in love, have children, get married, work with incredible directors, be silly, learn from my mistakes, buy a house, decorate it (many a times), eat without a care in the world, improve my singing, become the best dancer I can be, watch more films, work with robert pattinson (have sex with robert pattinson), be in Spring Awakening, eat meat again, make more friends, travel the world, find inner peace...The list is endless, I promise.

Ok, I have not had children, gotten married or had sex with Robert Pattinson BUT...

I now eat meat
My blog, although had a little break, is still going
I have fallen in love, been in a relationship for 8 months now and life is good
I watch more films, laugh more and I can say I have learnt from some of my mistakes

So all in all, I am achieving my life long dreams slowly but surely. As some things have changed, I am going to write a new one.

dance school

Next week, I begin a summer course at Laban Trinity Dance which I am ridiculously excited for. I have literally been sorting my dance attire out today and practising a few things as I feel I am so unfit and really not that flexible at the moment so I'm a tad scared I'll be terrible and stand out like a sore thumb! But fingers crossed this won't be the case.

I'm going to take lots of photos over the next two weeks and hopefully then review my course and have more decisions made about whether I am strong enough to audition for dance schools etc. It's a tough one, but I think this course will help me see where I stand in the ranking!

Anyway, purely for my entertainment and hopefully some of you will enjoy it too, I have put together some beautiful photographs of incredible dancers to get me in the dancing-spirit (not that that is too hard!). Enjoy!

Most of us ain't Hollywood actors

I think it's time for a change.
Yes, I said it. I believe it. I mean it. I know it. (the list could go on). I haven't brought this decision on completely by myself, in fact I've had many wonderful people around me to help me make this huge decision. Some things have happened in the recent weeks that I wished had not happened but I can not live by regrets, nor can I turn back time so I may as well look to the future, live in the now and forget the bad that has recently been.

I came across this amazing site yesterday, just when I needed it the most.
please read it, especially if you're needing a little 'pick-me-up'!

I am ready to take on a new challenge. Whether this means I stay on the same path as I have been for years or diverting off in a different direction, who knows? This week I am preparing for lots of tears, upsets, arguments until I decide on a path I may be content with. I want to be an actress (and this will always stand) but right now, I need to focus on something a little more direct. I need to feel as though I am achieving something, getting somewhere and not feeling as lost as I've felt recently. Sometimes, when you are doing something so difficult such as trying to achieve a career as an actress, you can feel as though you take one step forward and another ten back. This, for me, right now isn't helping me in a personal way. I need to see some kind of progress, whether that's in a career sense, within a relationship or even just in myself, I just need to see it and feel it. Probably taking a while out of this harsh audition and rejection process I may gain something which I would never have gained if I didn't make this leap. I know, I will always want to do this. I want to be on stage, entertaining, performing, making people smile, laugh, cry...but maybe some time away will make it more possible than holding on in an unhealthy way. Plus, there's more to life. And the more of life I see, the better I will be in the end at this 'acting-thing'! Haha! But it's true, it isn't the end of me trying. It's just the beginning.

Kiss from me to you

Red lips at the ready. I'm so prepared for anything when I feel this good.
Off to register at my local library, write a CV, do my yummy food shopping (on a damn budget that is) and possibly go to a workout class for good measure, if not maybe just a nice stroll with a book I have gotten out from the library!

As I have just finished my year at East 15 Acting school in London, I am now looking for jobs to do with television, film, extra work, a runner and also any auditions - if anyone has any connections with agents or television crews/casting directors or even just ideas and tips on how to go about it, please let me know, I'd really really appreciate it. London based by the way. Thank-you so much!

P.s. get in touch if you are actors in London, I'd love to hear about your experiences in the business so far!!

Big love, Jessica

Saturday is my day

Saturday is coming to a close and although I have literally done nothing today, I feel as though I've achieved a lot. Plus I have enjoyed my nothing-ness day! It's as if I really needed a day like today. My head feels clear, my room is clean, I am happy and I know I'll have lots of lovely sleep tonight!

Today, as I said, hasn't been filled with lots of major plans - however I seem to have done a few bits and bobs and just made it a very leisurely saturday. It has indeed been wonderful.

I popped to do my food shop and picked up some others bits and bobs to keep me entertained today!

Oh the colours are too pretty!

I chose 208 PAPARAZZI for my girlie mood

Then I went wild and added some sparkles...I think I'm still a 6 year old girl!

I had my performances of Animal Farm yesterday, which to my very surprise, actually went ok! I admittedly did not enjoy the whole process of being in that play, however, the performances were fun and the audience appeared to enjoy themselves. It wasn't the best show of the week, I know that! However, to have made everyone laugh and knowing everyone in that audience smiled that evening because of us - well that's enough for me! It's over now anyway and I am very happy to say that for my last project at East 15 Acting school I have been picked by the brilliant director Hamish Gray (who has recently been in Salmon Fishing In The Yemen) to be in I Remember Mama by John Van Druten! Plus I am working with my best friends on it as we were all picked by him (privileged!). This news has made my weekend!

I bought this bubble bath purely because of this little quote on the bottle! (I love it!) Oh, and it smells divine.

I made a yummy smoked salmon dinner mmm

This song is amazing to put on when meditating & relaxing

I did a short amount of yoga & meditation to get me sleepy before bed

And now Saturday is over and I'm in bed watching Friends. The little things are what count...do something every day to make yourself smile. It makes a world of difference!

And now I'm watching Friends in bed with a Vanilla tea!

I hope everyone has had a relaxing saturday too.

Night night sweet dreams!

Now you're in my way

Wow. Bad day. In fact, not to be too negative, a terrible day. I had nightmares all night (and bloody real ones too...) therefore I had no sleep, woke up with bad thoughts and I haven't stop thinking about the nightmares all day. I feel so horrible.

Please, stay out of my dreams tonight. I beg you.

My lovely outfit. If only I had good legs!

Also, I am in a performance of Animal Farm tomorrow, which I'm fretting about. I hate the fact I have to be an animal and I hate the fact that it's tomorrow and we have yet to do a full run-through (would you believe it). The joys of having an unorganised director and drama school. I prefer to be organised, on-top of things and excited for a performance, other wise my anxiety levels are awful. Yay.

On a positive note...
I went shopping, bought a beautiful pair of shoes from River Island, visited the Disney shop (which always cheers me up), started making my friends birthday present & had a wonderful dinner with my best friend Sophie (who never ever fails to make me feel better). But this was at the weekend. So since then, things have gone a little down hill...

My lovely new shoes from River Island. I'm thinking they'll go beautifully with my leopard print 3/4 length dress!

Me (Ariel) and Sophie (Belle) at the Disney store. These dolls are on my wish list for sure!

Anyway, I hope tomorrow brings a better day. I need some good sleep, if anyone had wonderful sleeping advise I'd sure appreciate it!

Night all

Addicted

And although I'm 21, I still eat Petits Fillous chocolate deserts, get excited about watching My Little Pony the Movie and love the cheesy teeny-boppy song Call Me Maybe. By 'love' I mean literally addicted.

Cheesy video to make you smile. Don't pretend you don't sing along to this with a hairbrush and a mirror!

This makes it a little more 'grown up' I think ??

Am I alone in this?

Now

When I suddenly feel things are going right, I admittedly get a little scared. I get scared because things can only last a certain amount of time. But I am working very hard on being positive, staying cheery and not thinking about the consequences before anything has even happened.

I fear failing all the time in most or all aspects of my life. This is something I want to work on. I want to be ok with being wrong/failing. We only learn this way.

Live in the now. Failing is ok.

My cousin showed me this & I think it's so true.

I have had a great weekend so far. Friday night included a Skins-like party. Mostly spent in the bathroom. This sparks interest... It's interesting, but I'm not telling. And Saturday, day in bed. Saturday night meal time at the Indian restaurant with three of my closest friends. Sunday. Oh how I love a Sunday, especially knowing I also have the Monday free (love long weekends). I have spent the day make-up free. Chilled out and eaten lots of yummy foods. Including a cheeky Petits Fillous chocolate desert. Yes, and I loved it.

I hope you are all enjoying your long weekends.

Talkative tea

So considering the day is over and I didn't receive any bad news, nor did I get hit by a flying car or eaten by a pelican...In fact I actually had a lucky day! I won £10 (ok not masses...but still!) on a scratch card! I never buy them, so it was fate. 13 you lucky number you!

I visited Portobello Market today. It was sunny and I was wearing a winter coat. Disaster! But anyway, it was lovely. I had my sunnies on, bought about 8 magazines (including my Kate Moss 1998 Vogue) and even visited Hummingbird Bakery. Treat or what!

I had Carrot cake. A little too sweet but still, it was yummy.

I had a wonderful day, I truly did. It just makes me so happy to be back in London. The buzz here, the creative flow in the air and the constant people-seeing is just amazing for me. I adore being a busy-bee!

Tomorrow or I should say today, I have an even busier day. Back at Pineapple Dance studios, shopping for costume (for a play I'm in), seeing my Momma in London town for drinks and then out with my amazing group of friends in the evening...

Life is good, life is very good.

Plus my tea just told me to 'Sing with your heart' and I feel it's a life lesson learnt...taught by my talkative tea. Oh simple joys.

I hope everyone had a lucky friday the 13th, no one deserves bad days!

Unlucky

So it's Friday the 13th. I'm freaking out.
Not only is it a scary/unlucky day, but for me potentially even worse...I broke a mirror yesterday. Yes, you read it correctly...I broke a mirror. That's what? 7 years bad luck? As if I need that!!
So I'm treading on thin ice today, so nervous that I'll be hit by lightening or chased by a bull or maybe even poisoned by my seemingly nice housemates...Right now I believe anything could happen!

I've decided a nice calm yoga class in central london may help the nerves finished off with a quick trip to Portobello Road for a bit of fashion stalking and then off to Wholefoods Market for dinner. I'm not sure who I think I am, but to hell with it, my student loan comes in Monday so I'll treat myself.

I shall report back later my lovelies.

What's your Friday plan?
Wish me luck. Please. I need it.

Don't know how

Yes, I did. And for a while wonderland is definitely the best place to be. Key word 'while'. Not forever. However, if I had the key to go back to wonderland, I would.

What's your Wonderland?

found this song tonight...I'm obviously obsessed with it already!

Easy, yeah right!

This is where I need to go right now...I read that almost 80% of illnesses and bad health you have is down to stress

So, as you may not know much about me...I thought I'd fill you in. I love anything inspirational, dream-like, beautiful and old-fashioned. I like to be around people, have a busy schedule and dance as much as possible (even if it may just be in my room!). Films, music and theatre are what keep me very much sane...as I said, I get bored easily so enjoy a busy schedule. Don't get me wrong, I love my winding down time. I enjoy a bubble bath, an early night and a good long sleep, but still, it's usually only truly enjoyed if my life has been hectic! Which at this very moment, it definitely is not. So I'm bored, a little frustrated and I end up being very lazy (which I hate!). Laziness- what an ugly word! And let me tell you something, laziness definitely is making me appear ugly. I have (for some reason or another) just got a skin infection...on my face. Lucky me! Plus my laziness is reflecting my body. I feel a little easter weight gain has creeped up on me. This makes me sad. But I know, I go back to London soon & my routine kicks back in in less than two weeks and I will soon find my way back to optimal health. (YAY)
However, it has got me thinking that in the future, to be who I want to be and have the lifestyle I desire to have, I have to be a busy lady with a job that keeps me happy and motivated, or else I WILL become an ugly lazy so and so. Which is NOT what I want in life.

Anyway, the point of this post is to inspire you (and myself) with some motivational quotes, pictures and possibly even a video...I'll see what I find.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

Miley Cyrus is so inspiring at the moment. She's running, walking, doing pilates all the time! And it's showing in her amazingly slim and toned body. She is a definite inspiration to me at the moment to be very healthy. She promotes a good healthy body image I think.

As I am a dancer, I am always inspired by dance photography. Dancers are so motivated & like to push themselves to get results. I have recently been practising this ^ and although I haven't quite got to her standard, I think I could get there if I keep pushing myself.

yes, this is my attempt!

Miranda Kerr, purely because her body (although I'm sure a lot of it is down to genes) she must work very hard to maintain a lean, curvy, beautiful body like this one!

Demi Lovato is an inspiration to me at the moment because she has recently come out to the world about her eating and self harming issues. She has been receiving help for it but at the same time, inspiring many others to get help and speak up about their own issues. So inspirational to me. Also she is motivating because she must work so hard every day to fight the demons, trust me that's work in itself.

Victoria Secret models...well their bodies just reflect hard work and motivation. Some may say unrealistic, I disagree. But I will say they have tons of help, nutritionists, trainers and advice soooo it isn't something to aspire to be as such, more just to admire!

Sorry if this doesn't inspire you...if it doesn't though...think about what motivates you in life?

It may take your all

Good afternoon beautiful people.
It's a Friday, I'm motivated, got a new jumper on and I've taken time to make my spotty face (annoying) look semi-presentable! I also have my fave girl coming over to share sushi & wine tonight, so obviously everything will be great today.

The only thing that's puzzling me is the ridic hype about the petrol. I haven't got any & I'm not worrying...ok maybe I should be now?! But, whatevs! It's not the end of the world!! Am I being too chilled about this?!
I also have my mommas birthday coming up so that gives me a massive excuse to bake a wonderful victoria sponge with lots of yummy strawberries & raspberries!! Weekend full of fun I guess!

Miley Cyrus - W.O.W doesn't she look stunning? I love the dress, hair & make-up. This look really suits her. She's slimmed down, not too much though, so she's beautifully curvy and petite! Plus she's dating the gorgeous, Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth!!
 I'm green eyed!!

Just how beautiful is Olivia Palermo!! I'm not overly keen on the dress or the shoes but I adore her hair and make-up. I wish I had legs like hers!

Something you keep in a box on the street

Day 8 : What I want to do when I grow up

So it seems a little silly as I am 21 (technically 'grown up') however, my head still functions as if I'm a child so I still answer this question as if I am 12.
When I 'grow up' I want to act in films and television dramas and on the stage as I love to dance and sing in musicals also!
Preferably in performances of Spring Awakening, We Will Rock You, Matilda, Hairspray and Little Shop of Horrors.
Then in films similar to characters that Dakota Fanning or Kate Winslet plays.

Day 9 : Favourite Book

Well, people may hate me for it, but I was a lover of Twilight!
But I have many other favourite books such as Nineteen Minutes, The Pact, and The Lovely Bones.
I love to read!

Day 10 : Where am I from

Cheshire, United Kingdom

Day 11 : How old am I

You possess rare beauty my love

Morning all. I hope everyone is well and happy. I have woken up, had a beautiful bowl of oatmeal and PB and lots of dried fruit. I am sat here in bed reading the April Elle UK and drinking coffee. Life is bliss, I must remind myself this.

I had one of my best friends 21st birthday yesterday. We had a brilliant time, I do hope she loved her presents & party! Lizzie & I bought her some beautiful Thomas Sabo earrings
How beautiful they are!!

And we also created a big bag of pick & mix sweets for her, choosing only her favourites. They looked so good I was tempted to get some myself. But I go to the cinema tomorrow so I saved myself!!

Lizzie (left) and myself at Leahs 21st at Gustos.

I've also spent my morning drooling over all the incredible new films coming out. It's making me terribly excited yet very envious that I'm still not in one! One day I will be...got to be positive!!

I've decided to create some morning affirmations which I shall say to myself each day:
Every day in every way I will be happy.
Every day in every way I will be healthy.
Every day in every way I will find some enjoyment & laughter.
Every day in every way I will make my dream a reality.

Snow White and the Huntsman looks magical. My oh my I'm excited about this one! Bring on June 1st!!!

As I love Tim Burtons style and I am in fact in love with Mr. Johnny Depp - I expect this film to be brilliantly funny and creative! Oh and the cast is just lovely!!

And last but definitely not least, I am desperate to see Now Is Good starring one of my all time favourite young actresses Dakota Fanning. This trailer makes me cry so I can't even imagine what the film will do to me! I find Dakota fantastical to watch on screen. Everything she's ever done, she's done well. And I'm proud to say, although she's younger than me, she is one of my idols.
